Like you, we have been counting the days until we might be able to physically assemble together again in worship—and that day is coming! We want to reopen in the best and safest way possible for our congregation; and after much prayer, research, and discussion, our elders have determined that Alameda will re-open Sunday, June 7th, 2020.
In order to comply with the safety precautions prescribed by our state and city governments and health departments, we will meet in two worship services to ensure the space needed for proper social distancing. The service times will be 8:30 am and 10:30 am, and the building will be cleaned thoroughly between the two services. We will not have Bible classes; and the nursery and cafe will be closed for the time being. Those will be phased in over time, along with other church activities.
Over the next few weeks, we will consistently communicate the safety precautions and instructions you need to know before our re-opening. Right now, we need you to help us by indicating which worship service you and your family plan to attend. This is an important step in making sure that we can gather safely. You can do this by going to alameda.church/services and filling out the short form on that page. We will also be calling members just in case anyone has trouble filling out the online form.
