Like you, we were counting the days until we might be able to physically assemble together again in worship—and that day has come! We wanted to reopen in the best and safest way possible for our congregation; and after much prayer, research, and discussion, our elders determined that Alameda would reopen Sunday, June 7th, 2020.
In order to comply with the safety precautions prescribed by our state and city governments and health departments, we meet in two worship services to ensure the space needed for proper social distancing. The service times are 8:30 am and 10:30 am, and the building is cleaned thoroughly between the two services. We are not having Bible classes; and the nursery and cafe are closed for the time being. Those will be phased in over time, along with other church activities.
Due to the City of Norman ordinance that was passed on July 7th, 2020, we now require those attending our worship services to wear facial coverings. We will continue to provide face masks in the lobby for those who don't bring their own every Sunday morning.
If you don't feel comfortable meeting for an in-person worship yet, we are offering a live stream on YouTube at 8:30 am every Sunday. (Click here for a direct link to our live stream.) This live stream includes prerecorded congregational music and a special message from Children's Minister Anna Spray for preschool and elementary kids. Following the prerecorded music, we will stream Rusty's sermon, communion, and the Shepherd's prayer live from our in-person worship service. The live stream will remain on our YouTube channel for those to watch anytime on Sunday. If you are watching the service after it is aired live at 8:30 am, you can find the recorded video here, in the "Videos" section of our YouTube channel.
If you signed up online to attend the 8:30 or 10:30 am service, please continue to attend the service you committed to so that we can keep everyone spread out in the auditorium. If you signed up as being flexible to attend either service, please attend the 8:30 am service.
